Follow Up Meeting

The next meeting of Helena 2015 will be Wednesday, February 1, 5:30 – 8:30 PM, at UM-Helena student room.  Tim Burton and Ron Alles have agreed to participate again and have their staff persons available for the meeting so that groups can have experts there for the latest and best information on the five areas of discussion.

The goals of this meeting are to make sure participants have all the information needed to begin to discuss and promote strategies for achieving desirable results in the areas of education, growth, housing, social services and workforce development.

We will be providing additional information related to these topics over the next month, but in them meantime, please put this date on your calendar.

The goal of this next BRIEF meeting is to consolidate, refine, and agree on the goals for Helena 2015 created by the 10 groups at the previous meeting. The existing format (see attached summary) of the desirable future characteristics of Helena makes our next steps of action planning and implementation difficult. We need you to refine and simplify the 10 lists into a single list of clear, definitive statements that the community can understand.  Full letter….

HELENA 2015 – AUGUST 16, 2005

In addition to providing professional development for teachers, the Helena Education Foundation sponsors an annual Leadership Institute for Helena Public School administrators. Participants learn the latest leadership and management techniques from community leaders and special guests and can interact with each other in a variety of ways, including breakout groups and exploratory activities.

The Helena Education Foundation and Gateway Economic Corporation, Inc., sponsored an all-day event, Community Leadership Institute 2005, Helena 2015, on Tuesday, August 16, 2005, in the remodeled Helena Regional Airport conference rooms. Over 100 attended the conference which included education, business, development and building, community and political leaders from the Helena area, listening to presentations on the economy, city and county issues, social services, education, employment and heath care.
