“This group of grants is a great array,” HEF director Lisa Cordingley said. “It ranges from supporting the One School, One Book program at Central, to a grant at Helena High that was supported with money that was given to us by the class of 1962.”
Great Ideas Grants have been doled out since the foundation began 12 years ago, Cordingley said. Individual teachers can request up to $1,000, while group applicants can apply for up to $3,000.
Cordingley said she always looks forward to the day, noting one teacher “who literally jumped in the air” after hearing the news this week.
At Capital High, Miller had no idea a check for the 3D printer was coming — he didn’t even write the grant proposal.
